Kaboom!

We had fun this 4th of July. The last couple years we have tried to go to the Kaboom! show, but every time we waited to the last minute and tickets were sold out. This year we got tickets early and invited our friends to come with us. It was lots of fun! See pictures and a couple highlights on video Truck 1 and Truck 2

Toastmaster's

I joined the Toastmaster's club here at my work. It was a very scary thing for me to do, but I decided I needed to face my fears and work on my communication abilities. It has been fun so far. I helped out a couple times as the time counter and the umm counter. I even lead a scripture reading and prayer one day. I've learned some interesting things and heard very entertaining speeches from a variety of fun people. I finally did my very very first speech, "The Icebreaker." Here's a little excerpt of it in honor of some cool people I work with ;o)
... You probably won’t see me or my co-workers very often since we hide away in an office area that nobody really comes into unless they have a meeting with us for a new project or if they are lost in the jungle of trailers we work in looking for the IMT Support Desk.

You should come visit some time. They are starting to call our area “The Zoo” because we have so many office pets. It started with a big fish tank about 5 years ago. In the last year, our fish have become very productive. It seems like every two month there are new babies. The tank has 3 fish couples that keep having babies. But the babies kept getting eaten by the other fish, so finally, my co-worker, Dante, decided he needed to save the babies. So, he put them in a separate compartment. And now there is an extra small tank and medium tank for the different stages of the babies’ growth. Once the fish get a little bigger, they can eat the baby fish. So they constantly need to be separated from each other. He also got a couple toads in an additional tank. My other co-worker, Mark, bought a crab and made him his own habitat. It’s like he has his own miniature beach with sand, water, rocks and even a fountain. Finally, my other co-worker, Mark2 has a hamster. This one is very new to the office still. He has a really nice cage with an exercise wheel and the little tubes to run through and everything. The coolest part about this is the ball he bought to put the hamster in for running around the office. That way he can’t chew on any cables and stuff like that...

Happy Graduation!

Congratulations to my little brother for graduating from high school on May 27th. I heard he did really well too. I'm proud of him. Can't wait to have him over for dinner when he comes up with my mom and dad in July.

Gmail Contact Groups

Yesterday I was organizing my contacts in Gmail and I started checking out the "contact groups" feature. I really like the way they implemented that. The user interface is great. I can just browse through all my contacts and right next to each one it shows which group they are a part of. And then I can click on a group and select a subset of that group to compose an e-mail to. It's very useful to me. I never liked the way Outlook does contact groups.

Moving Up in the World

Andrew and I went out to the Pinnacle Peak Steak House in San Dimas. First time there. It was yummy!!! Andrew says he never had better steak before. It was so tender. We shared the 22oz Porterhouse with a side of sauteed mushrooms. It comes with a salad and beans. The special occasion is my promotion at work, yay! Oh, and I forgot about the ties... this restaurant does not allow people to wear ties, so if you are wearing one, they cut your tie off and hang it on the wall!

Bronson The Artist

Bronson drew this a few weeks ago. He has a new found talent. Now he talks about becoming an artist. This is Sora, his favorite character from his favorite PS2 game, Kingdom Hearts. He had tried to draw other things before, but this one convinced him that he actually did have some talent. Can't wait to see his next drawing...

Hu$le - Cool TV Show

On Friday night we were introduced to this TV show, Hustle... It's a british show about this group of con artists who take the money of bad people.

"pull off daringly intricate stings to swindle money from "respectable" but despicably greedy marks. With plenty of suspense, style and humor, an occasional touch of romance..."

We would describe it as mission impossible meets the A-Team. I'm not sure how to go about watching the show, but we watched two episodes on friday. We want more!

Guitar Hero

Bronson and I went to Best Buy and ran into this PS2 demo called Guitar Hero... it was so fun. If you are ever wondering what to get us, that's it.

"The Guitar Hero SG Controller is a realistic guitar-shaped controller... features explosively addictive gameplay, as you work your way up the showbiz ladder and become a world-famous rock star! Strap it on and crank it up!"

I really did feel like a rock star.

It's Our Birthday!

Andrew and I had our birthday on Thursday! It was a good day. Andrew kinda had a hectic day at work, but it ended with an afternoon with Bronson at Denny's and Baskin Robins with me and Bronson.

I lost a game of chess to him too... :o( I hate that.

We felt so loved by all of our friends. We got all these cards, e-mails and phone calls... Thank you!

I got to go to Best Buy with Bronson and hung out with my girlfriends at their pool and hot tub.

Our day wouldn't have been the same without all of you "leettol-frends".

We Got a Piano!

Our good friend Faith gave us the wonderful opportunity of owning a piano, a real piano! She is going to start teaching lessons at her house and decided to rent a nice piano instead of using the old piano that was already there. Long story short, we got a free piano and Bronson starts piano lessons with her on Monday afternoons! We did have to pay to rent a truck for transporting it, but it is all worth it. Check out the picture of how it looks in our apartment. We found the perfect spot for it.
